Batting gloves DO NOT prevent blisters and other soft tissue injuries
Baseball and softball bats and hours in a batting cage can lead to injuries that can side-line a hitter. The hamate bone helps to provide the top shelf of the body's natural protective tunnel for the ulnar nerve and ulnar artery. Ignoring and misdiagnosing injury to this area can lead to potential problems with long term blood flow, nerve sensation and strength issues. Batting gloves fail because knob pressure from the bat anchors against the hamate bone creating a "pinch point" where the inner surface of the glove moves against the skin causing more damage
"Prevention is the Key - You Cannot Cheat the Body!"
Ignoring the pain that comes from that hot spot on the palm of your hand when hitting can send your batting average spiraling. The body compensates for pain and you WILL end up changing your swing causing more problems down the line. If your wrist or elbow doesn't start barking, your hitting coach will, because your swing path will have changed.
The CagePro Protective Sleeve can help prevent injury to this area and keep you performing on the field and prolonging your career as a hitter.
The cagepro advantage
The CagePro Protective Sleeve was developed to create a "barrier layer" between the interior surface of the batting glove and the skin to protect against these types of soft tissue injuries. A 3.0mm protective pad is located in the palm to provide additional protection from pressure created by the knob against the hamate bone. The sleeve is comprised of a nylon-spandex stretch knit fabric that is extremely form-fitting and does not interfere with the performance of the exterior batting glove. It's fingerless design ensures you will not lose "bat-feel" in your fingers.

I just wanted to thank you again. Your glove is the perfect solution for my son as the callous on his hamate bone no longer hurts. FYI, other teammates are now asking Aaron about the sleeve as they have similar injuries. Your product is truly a God send! Mahalo.

As a former physical therapist / athletic trainer for the New York Mets, I have seen first-hand how these hand injuries can ruin a season. Many times, players ignore the issue and grind through the pain which often results in decreased performance and further time needed to heal the soft tissues. Often, an orthopedic hand specialist is required to perform surgery to remove the fractured part of the hamate and that's pretty much a guaranteed minimum of 6 weeks needed to return to the prior level of injury, often longer. From major leaguers all the way down to minor leaguers, even Tim Tebow, I've seen it happen- the rehab is long and boring! Prevention is the key and the CagePro makes the difference!
